aoneco's Beneficiary: NPO Animal Welfare Organization "LYSTA" - November Activity Report and Donation Thanks!
From Ms. Suzuki, representative of NPO "LYSTA" in Fukushima Prefecture,
We received a report on the cats for November 2025.
November Activity Report
In November, mass spay/neuter surgeries were performed on 89 cats.
Additionally, 3 cats were taken in from the public health center, 1 cat was rescued during TNR, and 7 cats were taken in from the general public.
●Upon consultation with administrative welfare, it was decided to perform spay/neuter surgeries at a multi-cat household where the owner had financial and mental difficulties.
The owner was unable to afford the surgery costs.
The first hurdle was whether the owner would accept us.
We succeeded in gaining their trust, and the cats they handed over were spayed/neutered at LYSTA's expense.
Since there are still unaltered cats both indoors and outdoors, further activities are needed at this location.
*Due to the sensitive nature of the situation, photos will not be posted.
Tsuki-chan is in the same room as Mehi-kun!

●Diaphragmatic hernia
Tsuki-chan (black cat) was found by chance on the way to the aforementioned location. Her tail was severely rotten and required amputation...
With persistent effort from our staff, she entered the trap.
However, the diaphragmatic hernia was a bigger problem than her tail.
There is a risk of death from air entering the abdomen during a spay surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia.
Therefore, we decided not to perform a spay surgery, to keep her rather than return her to the field, and only amputate her tail.
Since she cannot be allowed to move vigorously, she was placed in a room with injured cats who have paraplegia or brain damage.
Kinoko-chan, who worked hard with force-feeding and treatment

●Taking in injured cats
Kinoko was admitted to the public health center and we took her in immediately. She was severely injured and couldn't even lift her head. On the first night, we watched her all night, wondering if she would survive until morning.
Kinoko-chan is recovering!

With daily force-feeding and necessary treatment, she was able to recover.
Onigiri-kun, who could not be saved

There are some children we cannot save, despite our best efforts.
●We mainly take in injured cats from public health centers.
"Onigiri-kun" was probably in a traffic accident and fell into a ditch, suffering severe head and body trauma.
We were able to give him painkillers, but despite our best efforts, he passed away.
To die alone and in fear in a cold ditch
To be put down at the public health center
Or to pass away in our care, pain-free and cherished
We will continue to do our best.
●Also, due to the owner's illness, we took in 7 cats from a private individual.
In a difficult environment, trying to catch the hiding cats from unfamiliar ladies, I thought I would get muscle aches.
