Monthly Report for December from NPO Animal Welfare Organization "LYSTA," aoneco's Beneficiary, and Thanks for Donations!

We received the report for the cats for December 2025.

December Activity Report

In December, we performed TNR on 66 cats and took in 3 cats from the public health center.

Tofu, the white cat

Tofu was brought to the public health center after her owner passed away.
She is a senior cat over 12 years old, and we took her in as a priority due to concerns about dehydration from her skin condition.

Her pitiful face is adorable!

Mochy was unable to move, and because she had a large hole in her neck with maggots, we took her in immediately.
She must have been very tired, as she spent most of her time sleeping for about three days, except when eating.

The hole is closed now!

With care, the hole in her neck has closed.

U-chan was originally a stray cat, but the person who rescued her brought her to the public health center, saying "I can't keep her after all."

What do you mean, "can't keep her after all"?!

If someone was taking care of her in the neighborhood when she was a stray, then please don't rescue irresponsibly if you're just going to take them to the public health center.

She is friendly, but because she was an FIV carrier, LYSTA took her in.

It was once in the news that the number of euthanized animals nationwide for FY R5 (2023) fell below 10,000.

This number does not include animals euthanized due to injuries, congenital diseases, aggression, old age, or no prospect of treatment, which are classified as "injured animals."

For the reasons above, in addition to the just under 10,000, approximately 7,000 injured dogs and cats were euthanized.

Starting next fiscal year, LYSTA aims to continue zero euthanasia in Iwaki City, including injured animals, for 10 years.
