aoneco "Helping Cats" Project Delivers Blankets to Wajima City Evacuees

In response to the Noto Peninsula earthquake and heavy rains, on December 13, 2024, waji Co., Ltd. (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture) donated 1,000 unused Japanese-made blankets to disaster victims in Wajima City and Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
The next day, on the 14th, the blankets were relayed through Nonoichi City in the same prefecture, and Ms. Nakano of "Nonoichi Nyanko no Ouchi" personally handed them over to the disaster victims in the Oku-Noto region.
Originally, due to a business connection, we had a close relationship with a blanket manufacturer and initially considered whether B-C grade blankets could be used for cat-related goods.
However, while checking the situation in the disaster areas with Ms. Nakano, representative of Nonoichi Nyanko no Ouchi, which is the recipient of our ongoing crowdfunding project " Comfort for Cats in the Noto Peninsula," we received information that while supplies for animals were sufficient, blankets were needed for people. We then decided to provide support.

The photo shows Ms. Kitahama, a groomer living in an evacuation center in Wajima City.
She is directly distributing the blankets to the elderly in this area.

Displaced individuals came to receive blankets at "Wakuwaku Hiroba" in Suzu City, which also serves as a Self-Defense Force base.
Especially as snow approaches, we feel that the situation for those living in damaged homes or evacuation centers is serious, and we entrusted our desire to help, even a little, to Nonoichi Nyanko no Ouchi.
We hope to provide a wider range of support in the future.
The "Helping Cats Project," running until February 2, 2025, can be found here.
