We want to find "forever homes" for the cats at the Sakai City Animal Guidance Center.
We, waji Inc., are headquartered in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
Our workshop is in Hannan-cho, Osaka City, and our store is in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Tokyo.
Our representative, Kanno, is also a citizen of Sakai City and has a relationship with Sakai City. From the perspective of a manufacturer engaged in supporting rescued cats, she had the opportunity to observe Sakai City's initiatives for cats and dogs.
At the "Sakai City Animal Guidance Center" we visited, cats and dogs rescued for various reasons live there.
Taking care of these animals is a strong team of professionals with veterinary licenses.
The environment for the cats' health management and living conditions is truly excellent.
However, I presumptuously thought that it would be more effective if we, as a private company with a certain number of fans and active on social media, handled the communication for adoptions and the "appealing aspects."
This is my personal impression that administrative bodies have various restrictions on their working methods and tools, which prevents them from acting as freely as they might wish.
Therefore, the project began with the decision to use a portion of the donated funds to cover the costs of items and activities related to the adoption (fostering) of the cats here.
What is the Sakai City Animal Guidance Center?
The "Animal Guidance Center," which promotes animal welfare based on the philosophy of Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, has a history of about 50 years and aims to create a society where people and animals can coexist, with the spirit of animal welfare and the promotion of proper pet ownership as its pillars.
Beyond the gate is a large animal memorial.
I heard that many people stop by to offer a prayer when passing by the facility.
In the past, the main activity seemed to be capturing stray dogs, but now the main work has shifted to guiding pet owners on how to care for their pets.
